WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.6 million grant to the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana, located in Marksville, Louisiana, for construction of a multi-enterprise manufacturing facility that will support the growth of the region’s manufacturing sector and create new jobs.

Biden-Harris Administration Launches First Tech Hubs Funding Opportunity

WASHINGTON, DC — The Biden-Harris administration, through the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), today launched the Regional Technology and Innovation Hubs (Tech Hubs) competition. This program will create tech hubs in regions across the country by bringing together industry, higher education institutions, state and local governments, economic development organizations, and labor and workforce partners to supercharge ecosystems of innovation for technologies that are essential to our economic and national security. The program was authorized by the CHIPS and Science Act and is a key part of President Joe Biden’s Investing in America agenda, stimulating private sector investment, creating good-paying jobs, revitalizing American manufacturing, and ensuring no community is left behind by America’s economic progress.

U.S. Department of Commerce Designates First Economic Development District in Puerto Rico

Global Delegation to Visit Greater Seattle Region for Americas Competitiveness Exchange (ACE)

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), in coordination with the U.S. Department of State and the Organization of American States (OAS), announced that 50-60 senior-level government, business, policy and economic leaders from 22 countries will participate in the 16th Americas Competitiveness Exchange (ACE) in the greater Seattle, Washington, region May 14-19, 2023. ACE is the premier economic development, innovation, and entrepreneurial network of the Americas and is one of the leading high-level events of the OAS that is coordinated with the federal government via the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Commerce.
