The UCP will support regional commercialization efforts in entrepreneurship and innovation by 1) creating an infrastructure for engagement between entrepreneurial businesses and corporations; 2) linking distressed communities to regional business development resources to create economic wealth; 3) operating a hub to connect entrepreneurs to the resources that they need; 4) determining if public early-stage funding of private companies generates positive economic outcomes; and 5) continuing to raise the visibility of Kansas City as a startup metro within the region and nationally.
