This EDA investment will support Forge North—a startup coalition for the Greater Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP) region. As a coalition of 130 startups, investment firms, entrepreneurial support organizations, corporations, government, and universities, the Forge North coalition is positioned to jointly engage and recruit thousands of Minnesotans to invest in startups. By the end of the award period, the Forge North Angel Activation Campaign intends to:
- Create Minnesota’s front door for angel investing, engaging 1,000 high-net-worth Minnesotans
- Recruit & train 200 new angel investors (with an eventual goal of 500)
- Provide cohort-based learning opportunities for 50 Black, Brown, and Women angels
- Catalyze more than $3 million in additional investment in 75 Minnesota-based startups
- Help grow the proven, MSP-based “Angel Fest” event as a signature Midwest angel convening
