Georgia Tech will develop the Center for MedTech Excellence – a three-year collaboration with the Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC), the Georgia Manufacturing Extension Partnership (GaMEP), and the Global Center for Medical Innovation (GCMI). Together, these globally competitive incubator and ecosystem developers will leverage ScaleUp Lab @ATDC and Mentor Studio to address unique scaling challenges for medical technology and scaling for startups in Georgia. For 18 months, ATDC has successfully piloted this new concept, implementing a beneficial approach for viable startup augmentation within city-based ecosystems. The Enterprise Innovation Institute (EI2) team proposes a standard platform, enabling startup commercialization of medical device technologies and create new jobs with a multidisciplinary mentor pool that facilitates successful market penetration and operational sustainability.
