The mission of the New Venture Accelerator is to be a full-service, mixed-use business accelerator assisting Auburn University student-entrepreneurs, faculty, and staff start-ups as well as early-stage commercial ventures. Its goal is to help launch, nurture, and accelerate the development of entrepreneurial companies. Its role is to bolster Auburn University and the Auburn Research and Technology Foundation’s innovation and entrepreneurship programs and initiatives by providing working space and programming in support of Auburn University student-entrepreneurs, Auburn University at Montgomery student-entrepreneurs, Auburn University and Auburn University at Montgomery faculty, Auburn University intellectual property licensees, corporate partnerships as well as revenue generating commercial clients.

As part of this ecosystem, students and employees of Auburn University can engage in education and programming to support their entrepreneurship efforts specifically targeted at technology-based, high-growth potential startups through the New Venture Accelerator. The project provides an opportunity to expand this education and programming to include community members from the Auburn-Opelika MSA and will fill a gap in available training to ensure that high-potential startups are established, fostered, and grown in the Auburn-Opelika area.
