WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Oklahoma Biotech Innovation Cluster as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $35 million in grants to the Oklahoma Biotech Innovation Cluster, led by the Oklahoma City Economic Development Foundation, to expand the biotechnology industry in the Oklahoma City region.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the West Texas Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing Coalition as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $40 million in grants to the West Texas Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing Coalition, led by the University of Texas at El Paso, to strengthen America's aerospace and defense manufacturing capabilities by integrating legacy manufacturers in West Texas into the aerospace and defense (A&D) supply chain.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Oregon Mass Timber Coalition as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $41.4 million in grants to the Oregon Mass Timber Coalition, led by the Port of Portland, to modernize and boost the forest products industry in Oregon.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the BioFabrication Cluster as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $44 million in grants to the BioFabrication Cluster, led by the City of Manchester, to establish a biofabrication cluster in Southern New Hampshire.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Tulsa Regional Advanced Mobility (TRAM) Corridor as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $39 million in grants to the TRAM Corridor, led by the Indian Nations Council of Governments (INCOG), to advance aerial mobility technology in northeast Oklahoma.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Mountain | Plains Regional Native CDFI Coalition as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $45 million in grants to the Mountain | Plains Regional Native CDFI Coalition, led by the Four Bands Community Fund, to  grow the Indigenous finance sector and expand economic opportunity in Native American communities in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the New Energy New York coalition as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $63.7 million in grants to the New Energy New York coalition, led by The State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton, to accelerate battery technology innovation in New York.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Southwestern Pennsylvania New Economy Collaborative as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $62.7 million in grants to the Southwestern Pennsylvania New Economy Collaborative to supercharge the region’s globally recognized robotics and autonomy cluster.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Appalachian Climate Technology (ACT Now) coalition as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $62.8 million in grants to ACT Now, led by Coalfield Development Corporation, to create a hub of clean energy and green economy jobs.

Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $50 million in grants to H2theFuture, led by the Greater New Orleans Development Foundation, to boost the clean energy sector in New Orleans.
