Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to Little River County, Arkansas, to construct fiber optic cable lines to support broadband infrastructure. This EDA grant will be matched with $500,000 in local funds.

This EDA grant, to be matched with $246,539 in local investment, is expected to create 495 jobs.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $3.5 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the city of Bloomington, Indiana, to construct the Trades District Technology Center to support the growth of tech-based businesses. This EDA grant, to be matched with $1.6 million in local funds, is expected to create 530 jobs and generate $51 million in private investment.

Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.2 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to support the post-pandemic recovery of Pennsylvania’s small businesses through the PA Digital Transformation and E-commerce Program. This EDA grant, to be matched with $300,000 in local funds, is expected to retain 2,000 jobs.

Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.5 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the city of Anthony, New Mexico, to support construction of an Urgent Care medical facility. This EDA grant, to be matched with $375,000 in local funds, is expected to create 35 jobs.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2.5 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission, Amarillo, Texas, to support the purchase and renovation of a workforce development center. This EDA grant will be matched with $551,187 in local funds.

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $516,360 CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to Blue Ridge Community and Technical College, Martinsburg, West Virginia, to expand its plastics training program to meet local industry workforce needs in Morgan, Jefferson and Berkley counties. The project, to be matched with $294,190 in local funds, is expected to create 345 jobs and retain 770 jobs.
