U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $926,795 to Construct Airport Taxiway in Yuba County

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $926,795 grant to Yuba County, California, to construct an airport taxiway to support an industrial area in Olivehurst. According to grantee estimates, the project is expected to create 96 new jobs and spur $830,000 in private investment.

“We commend Yuba County for working to spur economic opportunities through infrastructure improvements,” said Deputy Assistant Secretary for Regional Affairs Dennis Alvord. “This project will build a new airport taxiway to support business development and the creation of new jobs in Olivehurst.”

The new airport taxiway at the Yuba County Airport will improve access to an industrial park in Olivehurst. The connection from the airport to the industrial sites will increase capacity for local businesses, enabling them to create more employment opportunities for the region’s workforce.
