U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $2 Million to Support Manufacturing and Business Growth in Eden

WASHINGTON – U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross today announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2 million grant to the city of Eden, North Carolina, to make critical water infrastructure improvements at the Berry Hill Regional Mega Park that will serve two major manufacturing companies and future business needs. According to grantee estimates, the project is expected to create 110 jobs, and spur $710 million in private investment.

“President Trump has been clear on the need to repair crumbling infrastructure in cities and towns across America,” said Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross. “The infrastructure improvements will provide a boost to Eden’s economy as well as allow local businesses further ability to grow and prosper.”

The water line expansion will complete the utility construction of the Berry Hill Regional Mega Park so that the site can be more effectively marketed to future clientele. The project will help mitigate urgent economic dislocation and provide opportunities to stabilize and support more vibrant economic prosperity.
