U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $2.1 Million to Expand Industrial Park in Litchfield

WASHINGTON – U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross today announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2.1 million grant to the city of Litchfield, Illinois, to make critical infrastructure improvements needed to expand the Litchfield Industrial Park. According to grantee estimates, the project is expected to create 600 new jobs and spur $39 million in private investment.
“President Trump has been very clear that rebuilding American infrastructure is a top priority of his Administration,” said Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross. “I look forward to seeing how the expanded Litchfield Industrial Park will attract new businesses to the region as well as serve the thousands living in the community of Litchfield.”
The project will provide shovel-ready sites for industrial/manufacturing businesses in rural Litchfield, which is currently out of developable land. The added capacity is expected to assist with business attraction and job creation, in addition to increasing the export potential of the region.
