U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $2 Million to Support Aerospace Sector in Oklahoma

WASHINGTON – U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross today announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2 million grant to the Oklahoma City Airport Trust of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to expand hangars at Will Rogers World Airport to boost the capacity of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul businesses to work on larger aircraft.

“President Trump has been clear on the need to renew and rebuild crumbling American infrastructure from coast to coast,” said Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross. “The improvements at the Will Rogers Airport will provide a boost for local economy allowing for new opportunities and further business development in Oklahoma City.”

This project was made possible by the regional planning efforts led by the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments. EDA funds the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments to bring together the public and private sectors to create an economic development roadmap to strengthen the regional economy, support private capital investment and create jobs.
