The mission of the EDA University Center at Arkansas State University is to develop a world-class model of university support for small towns in distressed regions resulting in enhanced economic development opportunities. Named the “Small Town Institute”, it will serve small towns in the region by connecting them to the expertise and resources of the University, provide economic impact analysis, targeted and superior technical assistance, support and training for local leaders, and create an entrepreneurship and innovation culture in the northeast Arkansas delta counties.
