The Robert C. Byrd Institute’s (RCBI) Accelerate Forward, a Marshall University-led EDA University Center project, supports an entrepreneur- and innovation-focused economic ecosystem in West Virginia. By expanding the former West Virginia University Center (WVUC) statewide and providing expanded services, Accelerate Forward focuses on advancing regional commercialization efforts and developing a high-skilled regional workforce. Accelerate Forward has also broadened WVUC’s service offerings through providing more direct assistance, encouraging entrepreneurial activity and cultivating innovation, regional collaboration, opening access to new markets, and developing new technologies – ultimately enhancing an ecosystem that has a national and international impact and diversifies energy-impacted regions of the state.
