EDA has become aware of a telephone/email scam in which the perpetrator claims that the victim has won an EDA award and needs to provide personal information and a processing fee to claim it. Please note that EDA does not provide grants or other forms of financial assistance or benefits (including unemployment benefits) to individuals and does not ask individuals to disclose personal information. In addition, EDA does not require applicants to submit a processing or other fee. EDA grants can only be obtained by following the procedures described in the Notices of Funding Opportunities provided for the programs below.

Fiscal Year 2018 Economic Development Assistance Programs Application Submission and Program Requirements for EDA's Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs

Fiscal Year 2018 University Center Economic Development Program (UC) Notice of Funding Opportunity

The Economic Development Administration (EDA) has published the Fiscal Year 2018 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the University Center Economic Development Program Competition for EDA’s Austin and Denver Regional Offices. This NOFO makes approximately $7.4 million available for the program ($2.5 million for the first year of awards under this competition).

Fiscal Year 2019 Disaster Supplemental Notice of Funding Opportunity

Application Deadline: There are no application deadlines and the agency will accept proposals on a rolling basis until the publication of a new PWEAA NOFO, cancellation of this NOFO, or all funds are obligated.
The Economic Development Administration (EDA) has published the Fiscal Year 2019 (FY2019) Disaster Supplemental Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO)" making $587 million available to eligible grantees in communities impacted by natural disasters in 2018 and Floods and Tornadoes in 2019.

Fiscal Year 2020 Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act

Application Deadline: Closed. EDA is no longer accepting applications for funding under this program.
The Economic Development Administration (EDA) has published has published an Addendum to its Fiscal Year 2020 Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Notice of Funding Opportunity (FY20 PWEAA NOFO) making $1.467 billion in CARES Act funding available to eligible grantees in communities impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Fiscal Year 2020 Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs Application Submission and Program Requirements

Application Deadline: There are no submission deadlines under this opportunity. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until a new PWEAA NOFO is published, this PWEAA NOFO is cancelled, or all funds have been expended.

EDA’s Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance (EAA) programs provide economically distressed communities and regions with comprehensive and flexible resources to address a wide variety of economic needs.

Fiscal Year 2020 Scaling Pandemic Resilience Through Innovation and Technology (SPRINT) Challenge

Application Deadline:
The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) has published the Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 SPRINT Challenge Notice of Funding Opportunity. This $25 million is available to eligible entities to enable regional innovation economies to rapidly address the economic, health, and safety risks caused by the coronavirus pandemic through entrepreneurship and innovation. The SPRINT Challenge will fund organizations that support the development, creation, or expansion of programs that accelerate technology-based economic development in pursuit of vibrant, innovative economies and economic growth, and respond to the challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The SPRINT Challenge is powered by the CARES Act.

Fiscal Year 2020 STEM Talent Challenge

Application Deadline:
The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) has published the Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 STEM Talent Challenge Notice of Funding Opportunity making $2 million available to eligible entities to create and implement innovative science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) apprenticeship models that complement their respective region’s innovation economy. The STEM Talent Challenge seeks to develop or expand regional workforce capacity to support high-growth, high-wage entrepreneurial ventures, industries of the future (which usually includes industries that leverage emerging technologies), and other innovation driven businesses that have a high likelihood of accelerating economic competitiveness and job creation in their respective regions and in the United States.

Fiscal Year 2021-2023 EDA Planning and Local Technical Assistance Program

Application Deadline: Applications are accepted on a continuing basis and processed as received. This Planning and Local Technical Assistance opportunity will remain in effect until superseded by a future announcement.
Through its Planning and Local Technical Assistance programs, EDA assists eligible recipients in developing economic development plans and studies designed to build capacity and guide the economic prosperity and resiliency of an area or region.

Fiscal Year 2021-2023 Research and National Technical Assistance (RNTA) Notice of Funding Opportunity

Application Deadline: There are no submission deadlines under this NOFO. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the termination of this NOFO or publication of a superseding RNTA NOFO.
The Economic Development Administration (EDA) has published the Fiscal Year 2021-2023 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for Research and National Technical Assistance projects. This NOFO makes $1.5 million available for Research and Evaluation (R&E) projects and $1.0 million available for National Technical Assistance (NTA) projects.
