WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $600,000 grant to the city of Conover, North Carolina, to purchase critical supplies in support of a new personal protective equipment (PPE) laboratory. This EDA grant, to be matched with $150,000 in local investment, is expected to create 82 jobs and generate $22.3 million in private investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.6 million grant to the South Central Alabama Development Commission in Montgomery, Alabama, to capitalize and administer a Revolving Loan Fund, providing gap financing to local small businesses. This EDA project will be matched with $400,000 in local funds.

This EDA grant, to be matched with $246,539 in local investment, is expected to create 495 jobs.

This EDA grant will be matched with $613,750 in state investment.

This EDA grant will be matched with $1.1 million in local investment.

Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the Kisatchie-Delta Regional Planning and Development District, Alexandria, Louisiana, to purchase, design, and renovate an existing building to create a new Resiliency Center that will support economic development in the region. This EDA grant, to be matched with $52,500 in local funds, is expected to retain 891 jobs.
