A serial entrepreneur and healthcare executive, Burcham is a founding Board Member and the Inaugural CEO of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center (EC). Over the past five years, he has led Nashville’s rise as a nationally recognized destination for startup and entrepreneurial endeavors. Michael launched Startup Tennessee in partnership with Startup America in 2011. He was honored by the White House in 2012 as a Champion of Change for his leadership in mentoring the next generation of entrepreneurs. Burcham also serves as the Chair of the Global Advisory Board for Entrepreneurship at King Fahd University in Saudi Arabia. Through his faculty appointment at Vanderbilt University and the EC’s partnership initiatives, Burcham has assisted dozens of cities in developing their entrepreneurial ecosystem. He teaches Entrepreneurship at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University and serves as a Special Venture Partner with Galen Partners and an Entrepreneur-In-Residence for Apple Tree Partners.
