The TomKat Center fosters and supports Sustainable Energy Research, Education, Outreach and Innovation Transfer at Stanford University. The Innovation Transfer Program managed by Brian provides funding and mentorship to student teams seeking to commercialize sustainable energy-related inventions and innovations originating at Stanford. Previously Brian held senior technology management positions in startups and established companies in the United States, Europe and Asia. He has focused on business and technology strategy, and managed the development and commercialization of new products for renewable energy and consumer electronics. Brian has co-founded three startups, has advised numerous others and participated in a successful initial public stock offering. He earned a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from Stanford, and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Cambridge University.
