This EDA investment will support Mapping the Path to Evolving Silicon Valley’s Ecosystem Equity (EsVEE), a two-year project led by San José State University’s Office of Innovation (SJSU). EsVEE seeks to drive more equitable and inclusive regional economic development in Silicon Valley through research translation, innovation, and entrepreneurship, with a focus on key technology areas of artificial intelligence, advanced computing, and semiconductors.

The project will lay the foundation and build upon the university’s nascent innovation support programs to (1) conduct feasibility studies, (2) develop impact analyses, (3) develop a plan to address regional innovation needs, including access to capital, and, (4) build formal partnerships that effectively connect our diverse communities with the Silicon Valley entrepreneurial ecosystem, where everyone can flourish. EsVEE's comprehensive technology-based economic development strategy seeks to remediate barriers for women and minority entrepreneurs and accelerate sustainable growth within the regional innovation ecosystem, pushing it toward greater inclusivity of people and perspectives and ensure global competitiveness.
