U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $30,000 to Create Jobs, Strengthen Economy in Lewiston, Idaho Region

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration (EDA) today announced a $30,000 grant to the Clearwater Economic Development District of Lewiston, Idaho to help prepare a regional strategy analysis of workforce needs, product appeal, and regional opportunities that will help boost the manufacturing sector of rural Idaho.

"The Economic Development Administration is pleased to partner with the Clearwater Economic Development District to boost business development and job growth," said Sandra R. Walters, EDA Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer. "This EDA grant will provide private and public sectors leaders with a plan for the efficient maintenance and growth of manufacturers in the region."

EDA's mission is to lead the federal economic development agenda by promoting innovation and competitiveness, preparing American regions for growth and success in the worldwide economy.
