U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $133,000 to Create Jobs, Strengthen Economy in Muscle Shoals, Alabama

EDA Grant to Reward Performance and Increase Scope of Project

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration (EDA) today announced a $133,000 grant to the city of Muscle Shoals, and the Utilities Board of Muscle Shoals, Ala., in recognition of outstanding project implementation and outcomes related to EDA's investment in water, sewer and road infrastructure to develop a high-tech airport industrial park.

"The Economic Development Administration is committed to achieving results in creating higher-skill, higher-wage jobs. Rewarding superior performance in the economic development projects we support is critical," said Sandra R. Walters, EDA Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer. "EDA is proud to recognize Muscle Shoals' success with this Performance Award."
