U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $70,000 to Create Jobs, Strengthen Economy in Carson City, Nevada Region

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration (EDA) today announced a $22,000 grant to the Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado, Durango, Colo., to develop an engineering and design study on an expanded, more energy efficient scrubber system for the Durango-Silverton railroad station roundhouse.
"The Economic Development Administration is pleased to partner with the Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado to boost business development and job growth," said Sandra R. Walters, EDA Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer. "This EDA grant will boost regional commerce by improving the efficiency of the Durango-Silverton railroad station roundhouse."
