EDA Grant Expected to Create or Save 645 Jobs and Generate $21 Million in Private Investment
WASHINGTON - U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke today announced a $4.5 million Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant to the Inland Valley Development Agency and the San Bernardino (Calif.) International Airport Authority to make airport pavement improvements. The project is expected to create or save 645 jobs and generate $21 million in private investment, according to grantee estimates.
"The Obama Administration is committed to creating jobs, encouraging innovation and improving our nation's economic competitiveness," Locke said. "This grant will create jobs and bolster the region's economy by rehabilitating San Bernardino International Airport taxiways and aprons to support commercial passenger airline service."
